Repairs and maintenance
Repairs and maintenance—new strings as needed, etc.—are included
(except for repairs for uninsured damage). All repairs must be
performed or authorized by Spencer Brook Strings. Instruments may be
exchanged for the next size at any time. A loaner or exchange
instrument will provided if repairs cannot be performed right away.
Repairs and other service will be provided at the school; contact us
first to schedule the service.

Insurance
Insurance is included in the rental fee. Insurance covers the
instrument, bow, and case against theft and accidental damage. Theft
claims must include a police report. Insurance does not cover damage in shipping or during travel. (For example, instruments damaged or lost in air travel would not be covered.) Damage caused by unauthorized attempts to repair the instrument is not covered. Damage caused intentionally or by abuse is not covered. Insurance runs concurrently with the rental: if the rental has expired, the insurance is not in effect. Insurance claims must be made within three weeks of the
incident. Renter is liable for damage which is not covered, up to the
remaining purchase price of the instrument.

Equity/Purchase-discount Plan
50% of all rental fees may be applied towards purchasing any of our
instruments, from student to professional quality. Equity/Purchase-discount from two separate rentals may not be combined. Equity/Purchase-discount never expires.

Renewals, returns, past-due charges
Monthly rentals will renew automatically on either the 1st or the 15th
of the month, whichever is closer to your start date. For other rentals
renewal notices will be sent two weeks before the expiration date.
Renewals received 10 days after the expiration date will be charged a
$10 late fee. Instruments must be returned to Spencer Brook Strings in
Maynard—or at the school, by arrangement.
